PRODUCT LEADER · NATURE & CLIMATE TECH

Hi, my name is Eva

A systems thinker with a bias toward action,
building products for a nature-positive economy.

The Netherlands
How I got here

Studying Industrial Design Engineering gave me a strong foundation in design, technology, and creative process. I chose a Master’s (MSc) in human-product interaction because I wanted to use design and creativity to improve people’s lives.
I found my way into service design through my graduation project at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. It was my first real taste of designing inside a complex ecosystem - balancing travellers’ needs, business objectives, technical realities and multiple stakeholders across physical and digital touchpoints.
Microsoft and then Fjord introduced me to consultancy and design within corporate culture. I learned what it takes to uncover real customer needs, to put people at the centre, and to use design as an instrument for change with clients and within organisations.
Along the way, combining work with impact became a personal quest. I joined the Tällberg leadership program, co-founded the Australian franchise of Join the Pipe to promote tap water over bottled water, ran the OpenIDEO meetup in Sydney, and completed a Sustainability Leadership fellowship.
The Ocean Cleanup is where design and impact came together, and where I moved from designing experiences to owning a product end-to-end. Launching the first product made from verified Great Pacific Garbage Patch plastic meant bringing together recycling, design, manufacturing, e-commerce and fulfilment, with a chain of custody that held up to independent audit.
At WWF, I worked alongside ecologists and researchers on nature-based solutions, from bushfire risk to climate-adjusted seed sourcing, turning complex environmental science into products that address biodiversity loss and climate change.
At Brambles, the challenge was finding where data could improve the circularity of a pooling network of more than 350 million pallets and containers. I helped embed a design practice in the digital team and shaped a tracking solution that worked within real operations.
Today I lead product at grovia (previously AirSeed), building a platform that helps landholders take part in environmental markets. I translate input from carbon scientists, ecologists, GIS specialists, data scientists and landholders into a roadmap, and ship features like carbon yield modelling and ML-based vegetation detection.
The thread running through it all: using design and creativity to tackle wicked problems, with complex science, real people, and a bias toward shipping something that makes a difference for people and nature.

Manifesto

Empathy Over Ego
The best solutions I’ve contributed to were never mine alone. They came from partnership and from seeing the whole ecosystem: bringing together great minds, disciplines and perspectives. I know when to listen.
To me, inspiring people are people who will push me, raise the bar and tell the truth.

Action over Perfection
I believe that my passion and care for my work, and a bias to action, are what make me deliver great work. Complex problems don’t get solved from the sidelines. I lean in, work through ambiguity and am comfortable being uncomfortable.
Momentum beats a perfect plan.

Should over Could
Anything can be built. The question is whether it should be. The right answer depends on who’s asking and why, so I keep coming back to the people we’re building for, and the nature they depend on, to make sure we’re solving the right problem, not just the one we were handed.
Context is everything.
