Company
grovia, part of Airseed Technologies, is an independent advisor for natural capital. Its digital platform democratises access to environmental markets, removing complexity and cost by making expert knowledge accessible. This enables landholders of any size to establish nature-based projects, claim credits and earn a new source of income for restoring and protecting their land.
Challenge
Carbon projects are governed by complex regulatory methods, feasibility depends on specialist carbon, ecological and spatial analysis, and the path from first enquiry to verified credits is long and opaque. For most landholders, the first question (“Is my land suitable, and is it worth it?”) is slow and expensive to answer.
How might we make environmental markets accessible to landholders by turning deep scientific and regulatory expertise into a product they can understand, trust and act on?
What we did and delivered
As Product Lead, I’ve led the design, development and launch of the platform, and own its vision, strategy and roadmap, prioritising across business, market and landholder needs. I work with our internal carbon, ecology, data and GIS experts to turn their technical input into landholder-facing features, and then work with our data science, design and development team to ship them.
Features we’ve shipped include:
- Carbon yield modelling to estimate a property’s carbon potential
- ML-based vegetation detection to assess vegetation across a property from spatial data
- Scenario builder to define and optimise project areas by balancing carbon yield, current land use and the project’s net return
I also manage key landholder and partner accounts, from onboarding through to troubleshooting, so real-world use feeds straight back into product decisions.
Alongside the product, I’ve driven fluency and adoption of AI tooling across our workflows, reducing time to market and improving handoffs between product, design and engineering.
Key Activities
•Product vision, strategy and roadmap
•Feature definition, translating carbon, ecology, data and GIS expertise into prioritised features (Jira Product Discovery roadmap)
•Feature delivery with data science, design and dev (Jira sprint board, tickets)
•Project management and landholder / partner account management, from onboarding to troubleshooting
•AI-enabled product development workflows
Impact
Landholders get an advanced feasibility assessment in 2 days (instead of weeks), at a fifth of the typical market cost, making the first step into environmental markets faster and far more affordable.

Key learning: Landholders didn’t just need a tool. They needed guidance at key stages of the project lifecycle. Commercially, a subscription model alone didn’t have the volume, so we built an advisory offering that pairs the platform with expert support, reshaping how grovia goes to market.
